I remember reading something in the journal about an event at Millbrook, September 2010.
I see from http://www.cenex.co.uk/events/lcv-2010 that it's on 15/16 September (that's a Weds/Thurs). Are the club attending in any capacity?
regards, Phil

Low Carbon Show, Millbrook
XJ600 electric drag race project
Don't you love it when your project's "80% finished" ? It's so satisfying to know there's only 80% left to do...

I think I rashly said I would organise a stand this year. Unfortunately, I haven't done anything towards it yet. I am very busy with other projects at the moment, but it is something that we should try and attend. If there is someone that could take organisation of this on then I would be greatful.

Re: Low Carbon Show, Millbrook
Anyone planning on going to this?
It being during the week generally counts me out (and in any case I think that's the week I am away at a science festival / conference anyway).
I don't think anyone has said they will run a BVS stand, but, if anyone is going, we could supply you with membership flyers to distribute, if you were willing.
Mary.

If we say who we are then I am sure they will invite us.
I went last year and it is an ideal opportunity - but we will need to look reasonably professional.
Depending on other factors I may be able to attend.

So, any volunteers to assist Rob?

Re: Low Carbon Show, Millbrook
I went last year and found it pretty boring.
It is really a junket for VIP's and is aimed at commercial interests only hence the weekday venue.
I doubt that they would wish to have a BVS presence there.
It was very odd last year that a damn great diesel generator was running all day for the occasional use of EV charging.
A temporary supply from the mains would have been a more environmentally friendly and cost effective solution.
Tesla was one of the exhibitors and I managed to talk them into taking me for a fast lap of the test track. We reached 120 mph in very few seconds.
Normally, only the invited VIP's get a drive.

Totally agree, what a waste, fairly standard sort of thing I've found
The green power races @ goodwood the other year had a massive fuel cell there providing charging for some folks, one of our members even charged there road vehicle off it
