Battery Vehicle Society

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can source a suitable socket connector to locate in fuel flap?
I've found a few online, I think this is the standard now? (IEC 62196 EV Socket/G) or am I talking rubbish, can I just use standard outside 32 amp? What do most DIY projects use?
The ones I've found are £80 to over a £100

Would a 16 amp connector be OK?
Recessed plugs (blue 16A Commando type) are fitted to caravans/motor homes for their hook-ups. I have found 2 or 3 styles in my local caravan shop. I fitted one where the fuel filler used to be - had to enlarge the hole in the car side panel a bit.

If you plan to use public Charging Stations then you probably want to support Type 1 ("J1772") connector because that's what's on most production cars. This will require some simple electronics on the car and I can find a link to something if you're interested.

However, If you expect to charge from 13A UK sockets and 16A/32A IEC 60309 ("commando") sockets only then just fit a suitably rated IP commando socket in the car.

A link to type 1 sockets and plugs would be useful.
