What is its maximum Range
People frequently get 60 miles at max speed of 45 mph in mixed driving
What is its maximum Speed
60-65 mph and is electronically limited.
How long do the batteries last ?
In theory more than 60 kmiles but it really depends on how it is driven and serviced.
-The service manual goes upto 60kmiles.
-Calculation of the point that the battery capacity decreases to 80% corresponds to 60kmiles as well.
-See Whats the highest mileage Berlingo/PSA car out there?
      -Evan is at 71kmiles.
-Steve Thayne's is heading for 90kmiles (one one battery pack replaced).
-Other vehicles with the same batteries
What should I look out for when buying one ?
-Ideally choose one without the Battery Cell Manufacturer Weakness See Berlingo Electrique Service Manual for more info
-Make sure that you are clear on its current range capability and at what typical speed this is measured at.
-Compare against the expected range above.
-This can identify problems with the batteries. The less miles or the slower the speed the older/more-problems the batteries have.

Heater Operation
-It takes 5-10 mins to warm up.
-When it is working correctly, from within the engine bay, it sounds like a 747 taking off (very authentic).
-It still continues for a couple of minutes after the ignition is switched off.
-Because it continues after ignition off, the unit is always powered and therefore do not dismantle without disconnecting the 12v battery.
Vacuum Pump
-The vacuum pump (sounds like a compressor) comes on periodically to keep the brake server system under vacuum.
-Normal duty cycle is about 20 secons on couple of minutes of.
-If the pump comes on longer than that it might indicate a leak in the system.
Energy Display
-If the batteries are in good condition the energy meter is supprisingly linear (even though the battery voltage against charge is non-linear).
Driving Techniques
-Be aware that driving in the rain can reduce your range by about 15% (e.g. a very precise circuit went from 51 to 45 miles in the rain @ 40 mph with the lights on).
-The slower you go the longer the range.
-Note that regerative breaking does not operate the brake lights. (See http://batteryvehiclesociety.myfreeforum.org/about95.html).
Battery Servicing

Charging
-Public and private charging points are shown at http://www.ev-network.org.uk/ [Move this to a generic EV FAQ][/url]
-Fast charging information and requirements TBC
Charging - 'Electrical Fault Light' On
Occasionally If you remove the charging plug before it is fully charged, the 'Electrical Fault Light' comes when the ignition is on and stays on until a full trickle charge is performed.
Unfortunately this is not shown in the handbook and be quite disconcerting as it says you have to take it to the dealer to reset the problem.
Also, you cannot, or should not, perform a fast charge when it is in this state.

Carrying any work on the Berlingo

Always remove one of the traction fuses/links (minium one link or fuse) BEFORE disconnecting the 12volts Aux battery, otherwise the DC-DC converter will not have a base line to work to and could become damaged. Also this makes working on the vehicle a lot safer.

In order to make it easier to read and maintain I have copied (my) relevant entries from "FAQ: For Beginners" and "FAQ for beginners (under development)" to one of the following
Please feel free to contribute to the Wiki by editing the above pages directly.
You dont have to register, however, if you do it makes it easier to see who made the changes and you can get notifications when a page you are watching changes.

The service and owner manuals are located on wikibooks because they are not suitable for wikipedia (see more information). To summarise, any contributes to the wikipedia entry should be in the correct style as follows:-
formatted as an encyclopedia type entry and not FAQ or user manuals
be backed up by data or references where possible.

The following is a suggested usage guidelines for the above pages

1) Only include information that you hold copyright to.
Please do not include information that originates from another person without their consent.
2) If you dont want to have associated accounts add your BVS ID to the summary of edits
(e.g. "arsharpe: Added stuff about blah-blah").
This makes it easy to contact the original contributer.
3) If something needs discussion before adding to the wiki then, it should probably be discussed in this forum first.
In which case, I suggest that we add a summary at the end of the discussion indicating that the info has been added to the wiki.
4) For FAQ type entries in this forum if you have a preference for releasing/not-releasing any information you 'own' then please indicate in future posts

    e.g.
    Regards,
    Rob
    (Owner maintains copyright) OR
(Free to transfer to wiki faq).

Better still just update the wiki pages and put a link in the forum.

If there is anything useful in the forum that is to remain private I will probably add a reference from the relevant wiki page to the forum, so that people have the option of joining the forum.
Hope this provides an easy to use source of information.
As ever, I am happy to listen to any constructive feedback.

Regards,
Rob
