electric bike kit

Postby phil shepherdson » Mon Aug 24, 2009 9:12 am

After Peters kind offer to see his electric bike kit from Alien Cycles, I decided to buy one too. The kit arrived in a battered box as if the Carriers had dropped it off a cliff first. However the components looked undamaged. The aluminium hub front wheel containing the 250W motor seemed very impressive. the electrical connections were done by matching up the numbers. The Controller to motor connections had mismatched numbers however which caused the motor not to work and also shorted the Controller. However after an explanatory email, a new Controller arrived which fitted perfectly. The bike behaves perfectly and is a joy to drive.

Yes Tim, thats the one. However mine is a battered mountain bike that now has a new lease of life. I can climb hills in top gear which is great fun!
