So progress has been slow, Lost out on the Lynch motor :cry: So I need to look out for another. I have found a couple of motors on "That site". I have attached the links

They are both very tiny motors, barely powerful enough for a bicycle, really. Diameter and length are always good clues as to likely torque output, the smaller of these is 57mm in diameter, the larger is 90mm in diameter. A Lynch motor of the power you're looking for is 205mm in diameter.

Looking at rated power, the smaller brushless motor is rated at 0.32 N-m at 4000 rpm, so has a rated power of 0.134kW, the larger brushed motor is rated at 0.37kW. The LEM200 D135 is rated at 14.39kW. In simple terms, the Lynch motor is around 107 times more powerful than the first motor and around 39 times more powerful than the second motor.

Your really looking for a motor rated at around 12 to 15kW to power a motorcycle reasonably well. You can get away with maybe 6kW or so if you're not after a lot of performance. Anything less than this will probably prove to be disappointing.

Seen these motors, Look like the same idea as the Lynch. Trying to figure out whether 1 or 2 motors would be best?

These motors look like the lower power version of the Mars Electric ME0708. I have a feeling they are motors that were made by Mars Electric for a specific project and which are now surplus. They are a lower power version of the motor I originally fitted to my RD50MX project bike, the Mars Electric ME0709, but now have surplus (it's been listed in the for sale section here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=2735 for a while now).

Just found an ME0709 on electricmotorsport.com looks like a good price, 19hp, A little heavier at 36lbs but i'm not to worried at that.

I still have the whole lot, a new and unused ME0709, a new and unused Alltrax controller, a new and unused Albright contactor and a spare brush card for the motor.

The controller and contactor are 48V units, which will limit the motor maximum power to about 14.4kW (about 19hp). They will work up to 60V maximum, so peak power could be around 18kW (24hp) using these components.

Performance would depend a fair bit on the weight you ended up with and the drag of th bike, but generally speaking electric power will give a lot more acceleration than the equivalent petrol engine power (because of the much higher torque at low rpm) and a top speed that's close to being the same as the equivalent petrol engine power would give.

The motor should be OK up to around 72V, 300A peak, so with a higher voltage controller the peak power could be around 21.6kW (or about 29hp).

:D I'm interested in the lot, would save me some hassle to start small and later upgrade the controller. I'm putting all my ICE bits on "the bay" at this moment, PM me with the £ your looking for, then I can make sure I have the funds.
