Nissan have started tv ads for the leaf. All focused on how user and home friemdly it is. If price etc is noted I missed that bit.
The first of a whole new era.
Happy new year to all

Re: Nissan Leaf
Has anyone seen any reports of actual use in the real world, long-term pre-production loans/tests ?
I'm a mild Nissan fan, with appropriate cynicism, but I think the UK will provide a harsh dose of reality
By rough and ready COBA I could almost afford one, subject to some rigid conditions and projections
Basic examples are:
1 Fuel would have to more than double in retail price per mile in 4 years
2 I would have to triple my local mileage
3 I would have to use the motorcycle for runs > 100 miles each way
4 Road tax would need to remain at nil for the car
5 No towing.... (Hmmmmm, so no TTXGP!!)
6 Almost always no more than 2 on board (my assumption only, no scientific basis)
7 NO recalls, not even if Nissan fully compensated for ALL losses
8 No greater than average depreciation
9 Successful trade-in not later than 4 years on, preferably sooner
I look forward eagerly to anyone else's views
All the best
Ed
