Zivan ng3 charger help please

Hi,

I have a zivan ng3 charger that is outputting 280vdc to the batteries.

I have opened the case and already wound the voltage potentiometer to minimum, as I only want the charger to output 255v dc.

On the charger logic board, there is a voltage and an amp potentiometers, I would like to change these to a different value and possible 20 turn types, and hopefully turn down the voltage to my required setting, and also turn down the charging current, which may able me to charge at a lower amp rate, especially during the summer where I may be able to charge almost always off our solar array excess output power.

I have go soldering experience, and have carried out a current limit mod on a meanwell pus, so have some experience, it would be ideal to get some info an someone who may have already done something similar.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Talk to electrofit zapi in the UK.
They are helpful and whilst they will charge for any work, they tend to be reasonable.
The pots have only limited voltage control.

Hi grumps,

Spoke to them yesterday, they are to be honest very helpful.
They are sending me a new EEPROM that has a better charge profile for lithium, and have given some advice on how to control the charge voltage and current setting.

I should receive the EEPROM tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply.
Anthony.

Update,

Received the new EEPROM from electrofit zapi, they'd are very helpful fair play.

It's working ok, have to do a small mod on a potentiometer top enable the voltage to be adjusted lower more to my set point of 250v.

A big thanks to Dave at zapi if he is on the forum, what a helpful guy.

Anthony.

Yes matt, they were very good fair play, good comms, tech advice etc... give me confidence that if a problem were to arise with the charger it would get sorted and at a reanable cost too.

All good stuff. :D
