Good news!

All the digital square wave does is sense an effective resistance. Here are the pin-outs of the new connector and a simple drawing to showing how the resistor/diode is connected. Note that most of the circuit on the car side is adding control to the EVSE.

Bad news!
Connecting to a single phase on the new charging post, which is three phase... If I'm not mistaken it's only 15A per phase.
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I need to pull just 0.5 kW from an european EVSE equipped with Mennekes outlet; any tip about where to find schematic of circuitry I must add to an empty 3d-printed mennekes VDE plug to enanle EVSE to provide current?

JumpJack.
If your *whatever* requires 500W, it will take 500W. There is no magic here. That fancy 1000Hz/signal pin that needs to see some resistance can simply be used to knock off the power to the cable when you are charged. The RFID card will release your cable.

Attach a socket (can be bought, i.e. edmundson-electrical.co.uk‎ ?). Ensure you get one with a flap to keep the weather out.

The cable can be bought. Try ebay. :)
The electronics (haha). What you want is an AVC2 from this gentleman.

Simply follow previous links on this thread or go-go-google for all the answers. The greatest fear is the unknown. It's actually very simple. Just wire the pins correctly ;)

The IEC 62196 "type-2" is now the EU standard with a few extra afterthoughts. The type-1 is the single phase american version.

The latter is a good point. Some scrotum attempted to pull my cable out (both ends) and failed. This was when I was in the pub with Tim after the BEVOM meeting. Seems they tugged it so hard it held the latch in the post pressed into the plug notch to my cable. So had to push it to release the catch. I've a front mounted dash cam. Will have to set it to also record on movement, find out who they are and in turn ruin their lives.
