Problem that i cant solve

Postby craftyfox » Thu Jul 16, 2009 11:15 pm

Hello,

I have recently bought an electric bicycle (Sakura s200) I was changing the batteries over and have relised that i didnt memorise what order the connection wires go. When i plug it in to charge back up instead of going to red the charge light stays green. If anyone can help it would a great help.

The bike runs off 3 (three) - 12V, 14A

Many Thanks
Jason

Wheres our sakura engineer when you need them

I'd think you need to start by connecting the + to the - on the next battery and then the + from that battery to the - on the next and so on.

You'll then end up with one un-connected + on one battery and one un-connected - on the last one, and these will be the two connections that will need to be connected to the rest of the bike, which way round they go I wouldnt know and the wrong way could damage the controller, I'd like to think the + would be a red wire and the - would be a black wire.

Hope that helps a bit, best take a pic and show us

I have tried + to - in many combo's.

In the battery box are 3 batteries

3 cables - 2 red cables one from the charge point to a fuse and the other is to a battery which is very long stretches right down to the bottom battery. And the third cable is black from the charge point to the battery.

There are also two other cables that link up to complete the chain.

I dont know how to add pics following instructions but that is kick me down as well lol :( [/img]

Hi Jason. Welcome!
Where in the world are you? We might be able to provide you with local real-life help.

Your photos need to be hosted online before you can display them here. I use flickr but there are lots of hosts to choose from. Your own ISP may have given you FTP space? You can use that too.
