Help for Lead-Acid Batteries

Postby dfdc » Thu May 21, 2009 10:25 am

Hi everyone.
In present, I'm working in a thesis of electric vehicle (car) at University of Minho, Portugal.
I'm with a friend in this project and soon we receive the motor (permanent magnetic synchronous motor).
At this moment, I need buy a bank of batteries, but the technologies of the batteries are Lead-Acid.
I'm thinking connect 27 batteries in serie (24*12V) but I don't know if it is correct, because I need keep the voltage in each battery equivalent.
If anyone know any type of information of this batteries I appreciate.
Thanks.

Hi Victor,

Lots of options out there to monitor batteries, but have a look at http://www.paktrakr.com/index.html. It can monitor your batteries and if any problems arise it automatically comes up on the display. I have used it and was very happy with it. Only problem I had was when trying to capture data to a pc, but that may have been solved on the newer versions.

Good luck with your project and let us know how you get on.

Greg

P.S. nearly forgot to add the DIY option.

Hi Greg.

Thanks for your reply, because I'm new in this area.

The monitors that you give me the link are very interesting and I will study it. I see more information in the other link taht you give me.

When I have more information about my project I will have pleasure in post it here.

Once more, thanks.
