Slow progress to 48v

As some may be aware I'm trying to convert my 1999 el to 48v. First thing was to make it fully work on 36v. At the city-el weekend I got a diode thingy replaced and that only left the rear lights to be fixed. After getting my el back to Hereford I fitted some old batteries to test with, and quickly sorted the light problems.
Next - convert to 48v. This is not easy for me as I lack electrical and electronic knowledge. First I want to fit my new control unit (suplied by Dave of electric vehicles). My manual does not show how to do this.
Any advice most welcome.
