Hi folks,
Well, I know the Prius isn't Type Approved to town large loads, but after checking at my local DVLA they told me as long as it was under 750 KGs I could tow with the prius without type approval. Interesting eh?
Anyway - we're researching this tow-hitch attachment and would use it to tow the City El and nothing more. Weight wise that'd be about 400kgs including trailer (My City El being much lighter than the standard one, of course)
So we'll let you know how the preparation works!

Out of interest, how much should my mini-el weigh with its standard lead/acid leisure battetries fitted ?
I'm collecting my trailer on Saturday , I'm sure its 750kgs limit should be fine. Otherwise I will need to add a brake system to the trailer.

One thing peeps might like to check is if their driving licence allows them to tow a trailer
I'm pretty sure these days it dosnt and you have to now take a seperate test for towing
Of course I wouldnt be surprised is all us oldies will have Grandfarther rights on our licences but its worth checking

As long as the Trailer is under 750Kgs I was told I'd be okay
Anyone post 2002 can tow under 750 without a special licence. You oldies can tow a whole universe if you want !
