Capacitor Vehicle Society?

On the general topic, I liked the style of the CBEV logo

but that gets us into horrible politics. And I'm not even a BVS member yet.

Been thinking about this a bit more – any excuse not to do my accounts...
I don't think there's any harm in coming up with one or two alternative logo designs that could be put forward at the next meeting. Suggestions always have more weight if you've something concrete to show.

I agree that any new logo shouldn't contain lightning bolts or the like – it's just too clichéd. I don't think it should contain any specific vehicle either.

I reckon any new logo should include the following elements:

Movement, or a something that symbolises movement, such as a wheel.

A battery symbol of some sort since it's part of the society's name and links back to the original logo. It could be more subtle though...

Possibly the initials BVS. Is it necessary to include the full name? Probably not, as we can print the society's web address alongside the logo anyway.

Should it be in colour, or just a simple line drawing for easy reproduction?

Is there anyone with any artistic talent here, or are we all techies?

LOL well you pretty much threw out my logo for the project I'm working on and described the current BVS logo there Malcolm

I can do the PhotoShopping to any designs anyone comes up with if people would like to put some sketch ideas up.

Sorry mate, didn't mean to stomp on your ideas - serves you right though for being such a tease about this project of yours :P

I really don't want to rule out anything right now, just looking for input.

I just made a logo, without text yet, who could accept them and put them up for debate and suggestions about the text ?

I don't think I can upload pictures directly can I, or am I being a bit dumb , lol ?

You're welcome to send me them and I'll pop them up for you.

To post an image you need to put it online first somewhere and then add an <img> tag

It helps if you know a bit about HTML but don't worry if you don't we'll be happy to help out.

I'ld better be honest, i spent twelve years in the printing and publishing business as an engineer so I really ought to be into HTML, but in all honesty I'm forever changing and forgetting where I put images I've made already.

New Year's resolution ' start using the Favourites facility'

Image

Like I say, it's just a concept, I've included a few different angles. No text yet, obviously

All the paramaters can be changed very easily

Personal comments:
It should retain most of it's meaning when printed in black and white.
Primary colours produce greatest contrast.
'Power within the wheels' concept suggests electrical drive.
Green wheels enhancing the connection to environmental issues
AC power symbol suggests either charging from mains or AC drive.
More detail could eaisly be added, but may not print very well on a small size.
Resoution is within the capability of low-end printers.
Web friendly, 3D effect adds depth, would fit in well with modern computer computer OS visual concepts.

I'm happy to make any changes if anyone thinks it could be adapted for use, or if another idea comes from then it even better !

errrrr :? Sorry to say Chris there's no way on Earth that says battery vehicle to me. Sorry but I don't think it's any improvement at all on the existing one.

Just my humble opinion

The reason it doens't mean much is probably because it isn't complete.

It's there for further suggestions. I would love to draw a little car around it and call it finished, but what about our friends with electric bikes, trikes, City EL's, and the new Aptera

Maybe it's a case that one size cannot fit all, which is why I wondered if anyone could do something creative with the words to add a bit more, one person rarely has a good idea they can complete by themselves.

Cheers , Chris
