Make-Specific workshop weekends.

Postby aminorjourney » Sat Oct 13, 2007 3:30 pm

Hi folks,

I've been talking to John Lilly and explored the possibility of having a City El workshop weekend, where owners can learn more about their cars and do any work necessary on them. I think it's a particularly good idea for the City Els as 1) there are very few in the UK and 2) they're quite easy to tinker with for the novice (like me).

I would certainly be up for a weekend of City EL fixing/maintenance and the cars themselves are nice and easy to move (hire a van and they fit in the back!)

I know Gareth Covell has a City El he needs to work on, as do several other owners : I'll mention more in the City El forum.

But, how would other EV owners feel about a make-specific weekend (maybe a mini-rally?) where you all meet, exchange technical help and perhaps work on someone's car which is not behaving? A berlingo weekend would spring to mind and possibly one for G-Wiz owners whose cars are out of waranty

If there is enough interest, why not experiment with a City-el event first.

I'd be interested in getting even more intimate with my mini-el
London to Brighton on a Sinclair C5 - 6/5/07 - what a trip !
Ford Explorer 4.0 v6 petrol for everyday abuse - thank God for LPG
Sinclair C5's (Plus "c5alive.co.uk" ) as a hobby

Excellent!

In that case, prepare for a City El event in Bristol early in 2008!
