AGM 2015 tomorrow **venue change**

Postby timpootle » Fri Oct 16, 2015 5:58 am

If you were planing to attend the BVS AGM tomorrow, please read the following from the secretary:

I regret that the AGM cannot be held at the Angel Inn, Woolhampton, as planned.

The AGM will now tale place in the Tilehurst Methodist Church Hall (Tilehurst or Pangbourne Room). We have the room from 1100 to 1600.

The Church is on School Rd, Tilehurst, Reading, Berks, 150 yds from RG31 6HA (I do not have the exact postcode). The church is about 80 yds from the junction of Kentwood, Norcot, School and Armour Rds, on the W side of School Rd.

To get to the Church by road:

From the W, S or E come of the M4 at J12. Head towards Reading on the A4 for about 3/4 mile to a wide junction with traffic lights. Turn left, curve immediately right, 50 yds curve left, ascend Langley Hill. At the top continue about 3/4 mile; observe Co-op on right, church opposite it, and Asda filling station on left very soon past it. If you come to some traffic lights (on X-roads, not Pelicans etc), you have overshot.

From the N you can approach on the A329 through Pangbourne to Norcot roundabout: or on the A4074 through Caversham - go over Caversham Bridge, turn immediately right at roundabout, follow road approx. 1 mile under 2 railway bridges; miniroundabout turn right into 40 mph zone; come to Norcot roundabout. The roundabout has a Shell filling station on its SW corner. Go south from the roundabout up Norcot Rd (ie turn right from Pangbourne, straight from the N). Go about 1 mile, ascending, to the Norcot / School / Armour / Kentwood Rd traffic lights; turn left; church 50 yds on right.
There is some parking in the yard at the back of the church, a paying carpark opposite the church behind the Co-op, and limited free on street parking in the vicinity.

To get to the Church by public transport: Train to Tilehurst, and walk up (approx. 20 mins). Train to Reading Station, and purple No 17 bus (every 7-8 mins; journey approx 35 mins; exact money (£1.90 single, £3.60 return), no change given) - trundle slowly along Oxford Rd on the level; at Norcot roundabout turn left up Norcot Hill; at top turn left at traffic lights; get off immediately at The Victoria stop; church more or less opposite.

For food: within 200 yds of the church there are 2 Chinese takeaways and 2 Indians(1 of them is also a sit down restaurant), and a chip shop; 1/3 mile away there is a KFC; there are sundry bakeries in the vicinity; or bring sandwiches. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided in the meeting room by BVS.
