Little Aixam Electric to promote business

Postby littlejobselectrical » Mon Nov 24, 2014 6:50 pm

Hi Everybody.
I am a self employed electrician looking into buying a little Aixam City electric car to sign write and run around in to carry out estimates etc.
There's a few on eBay now for under £2000
Looking at 2008 models
Ok I know that the batteries will probably need replacing for that price but it will make a great little runabout.
What I need to ask here is. What are parts like to buy. I know motor brushes will need replacing regularly. But I wouldnt know where to start getting some. But let's say somebody knocks my drivers door mirror off. Etc etc where does one find replacements? Break parts. Everyday servicing etc.
any advice will be great
Many thanks.

Hello littlejobs
You didn't say which part of the country you're from, but here are a couple of links. The Reliant place don't stock much for electric Aixams but do have some mechanical stuff that is used on the electric and the petrol versions. I bought a rear motor mount from them, they were very helpful when I visited. Comlec are based in Aldridge in the West Midlands and should be able to supply motor brushes.

Hi. Thankyou for your reply.
I'm going to view a Axiam City this week with a view to buy.
Is there anything that I should be aware of on the Aixams. Faults they suffer etc?
Things that go wrong and cost the earth to replace etc.
many thanks.
