All of the AC standards use the same protocol for communicating charging status and Charging Station current capabilities. So yes, it's really down to pinout differences.

It would be nice in that case if the charger manufacturers implemented it as a native input.

Has there been any news about fast pack swapping stations for the Renaults?

That's a lot better than driving in Holland for 24 hours! (The old record, a Leaf, 1254Km) Seems a fun thing to do :)
