LiFePO4 and BMS

Postby themotorman » Sun Jan 17, 2010 10:48 pm

I know this is not really anew topic but I have found some sources in China for batteries but not a reliable BMS. I would like to buy a BMS complete to handle 8 pack each 50 volts 20 Ahr connected in series to give a 400 volt bus. Any sources welcomed.
Batteries are around $1.0USD /Ahr from most suppliers. Finding a trustworthy source is very difficult without an on site visit. The kitchen table is not the place to make batteries!! 8)

If you look on the Battery related sub forum here you will see a very long discussion about a BMS I and few others use. It's self build. Or you can consider Cedric cell protectors which are very simple and work well or the much more sophisticated system from Reap systems.

A list of available BMS systems is kept here. You are sure to find something that fits.
