Hi everyone, new to your site and to Ev converting, but was wondering if we have a list
of UK suppliers ? Preferably recommended by users of the forum.

We have just started our ev project an old Ford Focus

Most search returns are for US suppliers :(
We were looking to use an Advanced DC motor with Curtis controller, just from reviews
of what people are using. There is a good list here for small Ev,s http://buggies.builtforfun.co.uk/Links/index.php
do we have anything like this? or could we :)

Thanks in advance for any help, Carl
Ps. Hope to come along to your meet on the 16th if that's ok?

Hello Carl, and welcome! Your Focus project looks interesting. I'll think up some suppliers later for you, and I'm sure others will too.
Do you have motor and controller already? The EVAlbum says AdvancedDC/Curtis but no details.
See you in real life on the 16th in Chorlton.

Robert Fowler (who has done a variety of conversions while trading as AVT (alternative vehicles technology)) runs a website called www.everything-ev.com. He is based in Somerset. Likely to give you helpful advice.
He can get you all kinds of parts, though he may not be the cheapest.

Regarding the Curtis controller, why not just try the Curtis UK website www.curtisinstruments.com. I have bought a DC/DC converter direct from them, so I don't see why they would not sell you a controller.

Hi Carl,
The Curtis1238R/AC50 motor route makes a very nice combo but expensive. Stands out from lead batteries in an old car. I suppose like a snake, you can always shed the old skin when it dies.
