Postby dpeilow » Mon Nov 12, 2012 6:26 pm

Elon Musk is giving a talk at Oxford Uni this Wednesday night and bringing a Tesla Model S.

More details and registration: http://www.oxfordmartin.ox.ac.uk/event/1402

Thank you for registering for the public lecture, "The future of energy and transport” by Elon Musk at the Sheldonian Theatre on Wednesday 14 November, 5.30-7.00pm.

Please note that the doors for the lecture will open at 5.10pm and don’t forget to bring along a print out of your registration, so we can give you priority seating. (There is not reserved seating for this lecture, as we expect there will be plenty of room for everyone who wants to attend. However, please do arrive promptly, as seats are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.)

We are also lucky enough to have a Tesla Model S, which will be parked in front of the Sheldonian Theatre on Broad Street on Wednesday from 16.30, so please do come earlier to have a look at this amazing car.

Yes - it was good to catch up with some of the EV regulars including My Llewellyn. Seeing a Model S in the UK was also a real treat. Amazing to see it take off up the street with zero noise too (not even inverter whine).

The talk was interesting but didn't cover much new ground if you've seen this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uegOUmgKB4E

Some of the questions were disappointing and there was a queue of people that didn't get a chance to ask (I was trapped up in the gods so couldn't get him started on Hydrogen, which is always amusing).

Worth the trip though.

The event was filmed, too, so hopefully that will turn up online.
