Anybody planning to attend the alternative energy drag racing at santa pod raceway?

"The event is open to companies, individuals, universities, colleges and clubs, and all types of vehicles are welcome, provided they are powered by energy that can be produced in a sustainable manner. That could include biodiesel, bioethanol, biogas, electric, hydrogen, compressed gas, and even synthesised fuels".

Thanks EV Dub for starting this thread so I don't have to!

I am actually running the event, and I know it sounds too good to be true, but we are offering free entry and track time to everyone with an electric or alt-fuel vehicle.

Take a look at the website and get involved! It's fun free and could be good promotion for what you are doing. I know it's drag racing, but everyone is welcome, no matter how fast or slow you are.

Rick - I've sent an email enquiry via the AER website, but thought "belt & braces" wouldn't hurt and I've put my query here as well :D .

Would it be okay to bring along my modified C5 that we used to climb "Test Hill" at Brooklands ?
London to Brighton on a Sinclair C5 - 6/5/07 - what a trip !
Ford Explorer 4.0 v6 petrol for everyday abuse - thank God for LPG
Sinclair C5's (Plus "c5alive.co.uk" ) as a hobby

I shall be there, taking my modified E-trike this year, going to see if it will do 60mph.

I've entered either the old "Junkyard Dog"
(it's looking like I'll still have it...)
Or something new, if ready,
Or maybe even both...
Should be fun
Cheers

hey Ed

I noticed your heading to santapod from plymouth. If you need a ride, i'm hiring a flat bed to transport my golf from axminster area, there would be enough space for a bike i should think.

This is the sort of thing that renews your faith in people as a species, and in things like the BVS
It's this kind of positive, "can-do", helpful attitude that makes life better
Dave, you are a star
Thank you for the offer
I'm in Plymouth, and I bought a Nissan Largo recently, to carry things like an EAPC (or a TWEV, if ready.....)
I am very grateful that you thought to ask, but I aim to go direct with whatever is ready tucked inside the wagon

That is, If I make it, health being a bit low presently, but gotta keep hoping...................
All the best, and thanks again, from Ed.

I see gates open at 8am, does anyone know what time the runs start/finish?

Don't you love it when your project's "80% finished" ? It's so satisfying to know there's only 80% left to do...
