YES, FOLKS, THERE WILL BE A BVS ELECTRATHON IN 2010
It will be a 2-day EVent at Shakespeare County Raceway ("SCR")
It will be on the last weekend of September
The SCR team and the BVS committee are working hard, from now, to make it as wonderful as possible
Lots of new features
Members' ideas will be received with delight
More soonest, from the BVS committee, and Ed.
PS
Check the newly sorted BVS main website
I think you will love it
The BVS Internet team worked late nights to fix it
All the best, from Ed.

Drag-racing at Electrathon 2010? from Ed
HI, NIKKI, great to hear from you
In 2009, we had the centrally-divided drag-strip as part of the circuit
(out one side, back the opposite side, enlarged-radius turns each end)
For 2010, we plan a larger circuit having many more turns, on another part of the airfield - HOWEVER - the drag-strip is again part of the deal.....
AND
We plan a separate, non-competitive circuit, on which people may try an EV, under supervision, for the first time, or to experience something different
AND
We have been trying to devise more varied "EVents" to add to the program
AND
You have caused me to think on a bit
SO
Drag-racing or 1/4-mile sprinting sounds like a brilliant idea to me
All the best
Ed
PS....
There has been an enjoyable discussion re electric aircraft on the committee forum in the last few days...
AND
your tag mentions an "Electric Kite buggy"
Is that a form of electric flying ????

I suddenly realised
What new motor?
Nikki, have you been building something?
Something capable of serious acceleration, like a sub 10-second 1/4-mile?
Please tell, the stress of curiosity is bad for people like me
Pleeeeeease?

Hi Gordon
Yes. I might be building something
My VW Golf is a bit poorly at the moment. We're contemplating a Warp 9 and a Zilla 1k
P.S. Drag racing Evs... Can we go head-to head with some petrol drinkers?
P.P.S Kite buggy never got finished. We just don't have the space for everything!

Sorry Ed. Why on earth did I call you gordon?
Anyway. Yes.
The Golf - No. It's been electric all it's life (well, apart from about twenty minutes at the factory!)
Mark II citystromer!
Nikki.

Not sure if my Lithium Conversion Insight is allowed at this event?
If it is, could go head to head with me, might be able to persuade Paul Andrews to bring his Lithium Rally Insight.
