South East informal meet 18-19th October

Postby PHEV » Thu Oct 02, 2008 11:37 am

Hello All,
Looks like we have an impromptu meet at my workshop this month. It's kinda snowballed, and now looks that some 8-10 members of ES forum will be coming, along with their E-bikes. There will be the Optibike from Team Hybrid, many homebuilt bikes, several KMX trikes to ride, and even the Electric Aprilia to testride.
i'm located in Peacehaven, very near Brighton (bn10 8hf).
If anyone needs small parts machined (torque arms and suchlike) a small milling machine and lathe will be available to "play" with. Just bring along templates and materials.

I'd love to meet any of you who can make it!

Thanks for organising this.

A bit too far away for me to come and support it I'm afraid, not least because I already have 2 other committments that weekend up north! But I hope it goes really well.

If there is anything I can do to assist from here, just say the word.

Mary.

Good luck with the weather at the weekend Steve. Shame I can't make it this time but it sounds like it's going to be a cracking gathering with lots of good machines. Make sure someone has a camera!

I'd like to say to Steve that's one of the best fun packed daysd I've had with the BVS yet. I really enjoyed it and the trip along the clifftop road with us all in convoy was superb hopefully someone got it on video !

ET and Spielberg are nothing compared to this. I really do hope you can do something like this again and I'd recommend anyone pop down to see Steve and the Team Hybrid guys too they have some great bits of kit I got a few pics and I'll pop them up soon.

By the way if anyone else out there is thinking of building an electric motorcycle you really ought to check out Steve's Aprilia and the Isle Of Mann TT Racer he's building JP was well impressed with the Aprilia and says's it's definately the best Electric Motorcycle he's ever ridden! Sorry we missed the Tow a van with your electric Bike Challenge maybe we could incorporate that into a future Electrathon !

Thanks Kelvin, I really enjoyed it too! Sorry we didn't get more time to talk about three wheelers, we'll have to chat soon.

Having discovered that pulling vans is possible, perhaps we should have suggested towing the Goodwood pace car with Marks 35mph wheelchar and a couple of ebikes....we might have had a faster lap that way!! (They only allowed us to get to 35mph)

Great to see so many people having so much EV fun, I hope to do this again in springtime...

Thanks to all who participated,

Steve

Now that really is a good idea !!!!! Let's give it a go!

Anyone who hasn't seen Mark's wheelchair it's the coolest machine on the planet. 35+ mph I shalln't tell you where I've seen it do it but let's just say there were a few motorists who we'rn't looking at the cars in front of them as we passed them on our way down to the pub for a meal
