Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Hi Greg, Thanks for the reply. Sadly being mechanically biased and with no programming experience at all makes it a very steep learning curve. I do like your newer system and design. Is there any way of getting an arduino mega to communicate with the original slave boards, so like a hybrid, using yo...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Ok, Tried alittle test today, just to try to see what the cell parameters were that were already setup in the master and slaves. Firstly set the master up as a single cell. Used command 7 to flash cell 1 led on the slave pcb, all worked ok, the visual screen showing 1 cell at 3.29v. Connected up a s...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
I think I need to get hold of a pic programmer and suck out the program that's in the slave just to make sure I understand what the commands are. On the software version I have opened in this thread v10 beta software had 22 commands, whereas when I access the pics on the pcb via the switch the softw...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Hi Isaac, I have opened the txt file of v10 slave software, and see the following command Command 05 = Decrease Load CutIn Voltage by 10mv So, could the slaves be programmed on the fly and let's say the cut in load voltage to start to drain charge is set at 3.65v, I'd I sent a command 05 then the lo...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Ok gents, Now got the switch all sorted and can communicate to the slaves via the switch. I've set the clave for 1 cell only at the moment for testing, rigged up 1 cell and all seems to be working ok. The slave software version is v10. I have searched and read the software thread for the v10 to see ...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Ok, learning,
U= up
D= down
Etc.... So, am getting there, just need confirmation the switch is wired correctly to the master pcb, it's soldered directly on the switch pcb so it's only the master pcb side
Still working on it though
Thanks.

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Hi Martin, Thanks for the reply. The switch I have a a single push button, it has 3 wires coming off the small pcb (about 1" square) that the switch is mounted to along with resistors. On videos I have viewed on YouTube from Peter Perkins YouTube site, I see the master pcb and the J9 connector ...

Re: Lifepo4 charging
Hi Gareth, Try searching ebay for programmable combo meters, they are a voltmeter with built ibn relay cut off that uyoyu can program yourself, they also have a current shunt to monitor the current. or, try some junsi cellloggers, I use these in my prius plug in conversion, youd only need one, plus ...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Hi Greg, Is there any chance anyone could point me in the right direction of setting up the master / cell boards. I only intend using 1 16 cell slave board, got from Greg but of course this kit was being used by Greg in his ev. So, I need to set up the bms for only 16 cells, and I have no idea how t...
