6,5Ah doesnt sound like much, but it's really not a good number to compare. I really dont understand why everybody measures battery prices in price/Ah instead of price/Wh which is really what you want. Curiously I did refer to the watt hour capacity of these packs in my post, rather than just the A...

I wholeheartedly agree. An awful lot of people can get by with a relatively short range, compact, vehicle for day to day use, with a bigger car only being needed for occasional long journeys, holidays etc. Selling this idea is tough though, as people seem reluctant to accept that a two vehicle solut...

Thanks for that, Malcolm. I'd looked at that site a day or two ago, but couldn't really confirm what the pulleys were. They purport to be 5M series, which implies that they are HTD section, but they don't look like HTD pulleys in the pictures, they look more like H section. This may be just because ...

The radial array would be harder to fabricate, and wouldn't have the advantages the box section has of being both nice and cheap and providing a sealed plenum for the cooling system. It'd also be taller - for the application I have in mind, being short is a dist...

I'll try and post an update on the mechanics of the double motor module I'm working on in a few days time, but in the meantime I've been trying to resolve the controller availability problem. After a lot of digging around, it looks as if I may have found a possible solution. I've managed to track do...

Interesting stuff, I'd not realised quite so many cars had electric pumps. It makes me wonder why more manufacturers didn't opt for the same solution as the Toyota Prius, with an electric motor built in to the steering column and no hydraulics or other complications. It makes for a pretty easy syste...
