I think the photo on ebay may be the actual motor, because it has the Ford drive yoke ftted, which the basic motor would not.
I think I paid about £1600 for my motor six years ago including shipping from USA and import duty.

There is a 9" DC Warp motor available on ebay at the moment, the same as I have in my truck. This I think would be ideal for your project, and much better than a fork lift motor. They are as rare as hens teeth in the UK. This I think is a chance not to be missed. The ebay number is 250539409876...

Not really applicable to private cars, but of interest is the fact that Smith Electric Vehicles (Tanfield) are against leasing batteries. This is because most commercial buyers lease the whole vehicle, so there is no point in leasing the battery separately.
