The Honda Insight goes back even further but they were never sold here so are hard to come by. Not quite right, they were sold here between 1999-2006 approx but hardly advertised or promoted at all. :( They are hard to come by, there are only about 250 registered in UK. I checked with DVLA. 8) My w...

I agree 'Kokam' look nice but are very expensive. I would love a 20ah boost set for my Insight. Other Li-Po flat cell manufacturers may also be worth looking at. I would also consider buying further cells from TS, the newer models give much better performance at low temps. I am still using my origin...

Hallelujah

Hallelujah, God be praised! GM might even come to their senses eventually and revive this project I hope.

Filming

Interesting, a woman from some production company rang me up a couple of months ago and tried to persuade me to bring my van down to some filming down south! I never thought it might be Top Gear, so after several discussions re expenses and dates it got binned. I could not get time off on date they ...

Good Idea

Perhaps have to go down next year and give them all a good thrashing :D

The website is rubbish though, no indication of rules/fees etc. I hate the two hands passing the paper up and down. :(

Li-Ion

I have my batts in a temp controlled foam sandwich at a constant 25C when in use as some of you know. They still work better once they warm up to 40C after 25 miles or so :) Low temp means longer chemical life, higher temp = faster chemical reactions = better performance but shorter life :( I will e...

Update Seven weeks on.

Update 30/09/07 seven weeks after MIMA computer upgrade and 2500+ miles driven, mpg now hovering at 101.6 :) an improvement of about 5% over my previous best on that sort of distance/time in regular day to day use. :D Pushed mpg over the magic 100mpg mark which is very nice and a great talking point...

Invite

Hi

I live near Thirsk about 30 minutes north of York, you are welcome to pop up for a cuppa and a trip in my van and or Insight if we can find a suitable date/time. There is a good rail link from York to Thirsk, takes 20 minutes.

PM Me
