Re: Charging Points - comments please
Yes, indeedy Chris, if there is a chance to make money. People will do power point presentations and convince a few to spend the money of the many. A complete no-brainer. Any "research" will have already been done by an existing workforce. all the need to do is tap the mains from a hole an...

Re: Charging Points - comments please
Still cannot see why Wigan council need £100,000 for every EV socket. Must admit that sort of figure does seem rather far fetched and I wonder how much "media interpretation" has been applied to the figure  ChrisB Wigan highways dept. are a strange lot. They constantly cry about our...

Re: Voltage logging
Nope, nothing that clever on a Berlingo. And no real need for NiCads - they are quite tolerant to abuse compared with lithium. Within limits, of course. C'mon Tim, I've seen the temperature probe you stuffed under a bus bar in the front pack. ;) True with ni-cads on voltage. They don't destroy the ...

Re: Interesting lithium article
Oh yes, there is only one reason why cells swell.
From overcharging.

Re: Voltage logging
Surely, to log cells voltages you have to wire them up. However, a Ni-Cd cell that is losing its capacity will heat up a lot more than the others when the pack is being charged. Try the finger test on each terminal, lol. You could try or buy one of those temperature guns? In your van you should have...

Re: Charging Points - comments please
That's where I was coming from. Tapping the mains supply not necessarily the lighting wiring. Admittedly might need to dig a hole. Anyway, it's all cloud cuckooland in council town. A home owner would have no problems fitting an outdoor socket for a few £'s.......... Still cannot see why Wigan counc...

Re: New to EV motorbikes
Would have been handy if something had text help me ;). The machining and work on the munch was amazing. I would love to have that kind of chassis. The MeV looks cool. I would want it a bit bigger for cell space, but apart from that it's a great idea. Daz Wouldn't it be cool unlimited if the cells ...

Re: Voltage logging
That will do what you need, but take care not to leave it plugged in whilst not in use, it will run cells flat (draws of the first 2-4 cells iirc) with time.. If you are drawing off a couple of cells then they are being forced out of balance which is bonkers. They who know, know nothing. Have a loo...

What sickens me Kevin is the totally uneducated commenting in the Mail. You need Kitten Block "Replaces the angry-making Daily Mail and Daily Express websites with a soothing selection of tea and kittens from http://www.teaandkittens.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" I...
