Re: Potential failures

The cell wires have a small section of single strand wire at the battery connection end. (In effect a fuse)This is merely crimped into the 8mm eye crimp terminal. I have come across a few of these that are giving problems of incorrect voltage readings which can give rise to vehicle shutdowns as the ...

Re: pallet truck method of battery removal

Thats what comes of letting the electrolyte get too low and what can take place not just driving but when you try and charge . Make sure the adjacent cells are OK. Its likely that the cells downstream of the damaged cell havnt been watered as it may well have come out through this damaged cell. So d...

Re: battery replacements on berlingo

Pull out the fuse and you can see the screw inside the holder to the outside of the fuse blade holes its recessed in the holder. Rather than do this upside down, pull out the one behind the 12v battery and you can see there what you are looking at more easily, then armed with that knowledge get down...

Re: Berlingo steering rack

Whilst the early Blingos seem to have the occasional problem with the power steering ram internally leaking any hydraulic locking, another problem with the MK11 version is that the lower steering shaft is of a poorer design and the lower UJ seizes. I have now had two of these go. If there is some mo...

Re: pallet truck method of battery removal

Cables come out of the barre / fuse. You need a decent torx driver. If the end of yours is at all worn dont use it as the torx head in the fuse etc is quite shallow. I tend to use a driver rather than a fan out set for these as they need to be treated with care. Dont lose the metal clips on the cool...

Re: blingo brake servo pump etc...?

The only way forward is to remove the packs and test the cells under load. A good days work ahead. DIsconnect the handbrake cables in the car, you take off the plastic cover and undo the single 13mm nut then slide the cables out, much easier than being tempted to take the drums off.

Re: Power cuts = no transport

I have recently started piecing the components together for a stored Solar power system, using partially depleted traction cells, and an inverter. The idea being to store as much power as possible so that a charge of a vehicle could take place from the solar / stored energy. I have just over 1kw of ...

I am still in contact with EVan. I will ask him for you.
No error on Evlite
Charger is all part of the big Alloy box, so thats what you send. Its cheapest by Hermes, by about a half Royal Mail.At around £16 each way.

Re: More Belingo van troubles , charging not intialising ?

It sounds like a common charger problem that I have had on a lot of Blingos, charge starts then after a few seconds shuts down, it will repeat ad infinitum if you un plug and start again. A job for Evan, Rear pack showing average of 5.8+v suggests that one or two cells are weak in that pack. Grumpy-b

Re: blingo brake servo pump etc...?

It only takes one or two cells to be duff to make the difference, but the voltages are not giving you the real picture they need to be taken just after the Eco light has come on, or after you have limped home. That will give a much better understanding of whats going on with the cells at their worst...
