All those big fork lift motors must be capable of much higher peak powers, and higher continuous ones with suitable forced cooling. The modern pan cake motors are the best but at a price. The fork lift ones must still do 80% efficiency, so not that much worse than the 90% for the pancakes. The aircr...

I paid approx £4000 for the 7.5KWh standard type Lipo pack on my H100. 200 x 10Ah cells from www.batteryspace.com. These are rated at 2C max discharge so in theory could be high rate enough for a 1/2 hour race. They sell some bigger cells but the 10Ah had the best Ah/£.

Yes well done Cedric and collegues. Interestingly, according to the TTXGP team profile, he used a large 16KWh battery of 63 Kokam lithiumpolymer cells and not the LiFeBatt cells often suggested for this hi rate application. This suggests he used the SLPB 60460330H 70Ah hi power cell. This is about t...

Chevrolet Volt on News Night "Ethical man"
A good report including a look at GM's battery lab. I think I spotted 16KWh 400 lbs on the pack rating plate!. 88Wh/Kg.

Here are a few more pictures. I now have all the batteries 10S 20P 10Ah each so approx 7.5KWh total. Performance is now reasonable with the intended 300A limit. Although the initial get away still feels a little sluggish, acceleration is almost constant up to base speed around 40 mph. Above this the...

I went through the process a few weeks ago for a small motor bike conversion, and found it as above. I'm insured with Footman James. Bike is over 10 years old. If the Vehicle is younger an SVA test may then be required and I think SVA is going to be renamed something else. Local Bristol DVLA office ...
