For some weeks now, everytime we log in, although clnbrtltt appears as logged in at the bottom of the page, we still have to log in again to get access to all messages. By logging in twice no new messages are highlighted thus we have to laboriously check all dates etc. for new messages. We are using...

We are not happy about the lease aspect of the Think batteries. We do not use a vehicle every day and on the days we do use one we often only go a few miles and at a leisurely pace. The batteries in a car that we have would be likely to last a lot longer than someone who uses their vehicle every day...

If you are interested, we could write an article about our wind turbine and a little about how we are getting on with our newly acquired Elcat EV.

If so, would it be OK to write it using Works word processor with photos available on Flickr?

Yes, we saw it and agree with all your comments Chris.
Pity only 100 are arriving in the UK. Let's hope they are all snapped up quickly and more follow.
Still wish it was a 4 seater.

As we often have an unreliable internet connection we are in favour of a membership location list. We have noticed that 140 people registered on this forum have not stated their location, not sure why. Qdos you may well be right that most of us are no more than 10 miles from our nearest BVS member b...

Our predicted average wind speed is 6.8m/s but that covers a square km and we are almost at the highest point :!:

At the highest point just 100 metres from us if we clamber up on the hedge on a very clear day we can see the North coast of Cornwall one way and the South coast the other.

We have only had 2 "grid surges" that have affected our turbine in the 9 months of operation. The turbine carried on in "working mode" but was only producing under 6 watts when according to the wind speed it should have been generating well over 1kWh. On the first occasion we ran...

We think the grid surges are when there is a fluctuation in the mains supply. It can be under voltage, over voltage or frequency anomalies (or so says the Windy Boy user manual) :!:

Charging an EV for nothing really appeals to us too

Thought it was time to give an update on how the turbine is working. Basically, no major problems. We have had a couple of grid surges but they were easily rectified by manually switching off for a few minutes and then switching back on - easily done (providing we aren't away :!: ). We have had quit...
