As soon as we see a high performance electric car for sale to the general public in the UK, Top Gear are going to be getting their hands on it. Whether it is the Tesla or the Lightning or something else... we'll have to wait and see. With regards to that souped up G-Wiz, it was built with four 27kW ...

Can I join in too? My G-Wiz The year started out with my wife Angela using the G-Wiz as her daily transport, taking the kids to school (a round trip of around 7 miles) and using it for her work. Living out in Reading at the time, the G-Wiz attracted lots of attention. It was liveried with our compan...

I've spoken to the people selling the car. It's a very sad story, but the upshot is that here is a car that is pretty much ready to go and break a couple of world records. They have had some interest so far, but lots of morons on eBay which is why they cancelled all the bids and closed the auction. ...

Hi Mike, I don't know. I just feel that, with really decent commercial and fantastic ammeter conversions out there that would have dusted a mustang without being mucked around with they could have done an equally shocking piece. It would have worked really well had they gone "Okay, now here's ...

I know. It's tempting, although that depends on how much I could get the price down. The prices I've been quoted so far are fairly horrific, and I can't justify spending £5000 on a set of batteries at the moment...

Well I've had a few interesting discussions with real petrol-heads since the show went out on Sunday. I have to say everyone was impressed that a G-Wiz could be made to out-accelerate a Shelby Mustang on electric power alone. It burst a few pre-conceptions about electric vehicles being slow and ther...

Good luck Mike, I was asked to go on it too with the Zest but declined. It was a shame you declined. Top Gear has a massive viewership and you would have got a significant amount of enquiries and interest from having one of your cars on the show. Next time they ask to borrow a car - bite their arm ...

Well, just a reminder for everyone to tune in to Top Gear on Sunday evening - BBC2 at 8pm, repeated again on Christmas Day at midnight. Remember it's Top Gear - don't take it too seriously - but here is a link to prove that the Top Gear team are going green this Christmas: http://www.elfyourself.com...

EV servicing

Does anyone know anyone who carries out EV servicing in the Midlands? One of my batteries is playing up and GoinGreen are quoting silly money for a replacement. I'm a bit nervous about carrying out the replacement myself - I really can't afford to blow up the controller or do anything stupid. Any re...
