Plugged In

Now that the toys are back in the pram, perhaps some good may possibly be salvaged from an unfortunate lapse of good manners. In my opinion, after such tantrums, which perhaps should not be aired in the heat of the moment, (E-Mails are notorious for this sort of thing) the protagonists very often co...

Blingo heater.

Hello boys & girls. I thought I'd share this little gem with you. During the recent cold spell I was less than enamoured with the heater performance. i.e. time to heat etc. I decided to "lag the pipes". With some reflective foam from behind a house radiator I first of all wrapped the s...

Brake pedal position

Just a thought & this will involve getting your head under the dashboard. Check that the lock nut (if fitted) on the brake pedal push rod is tight. Many years ago I had this come loose on a Land Rover. First the pedal free movement dissapeared, then!!! the push rod fell off & I had no brakes...

Berlingo noise.

My Blingo has been "hors de combat" for the last week. The DC-DC converter has failed. As we speak the ECU is on its way back from Evan, having been fixed. I think we have established that the replacement battery that was fitted when I bought the van, was not, as I naively believed it to b...

Sorry, haven't had time yet. I forgot I had promised to go to the Classic Bike show at Stafford with my brother. I collected him & we trundled off in the Berlingo at a reasonable rate but refraining from high speeds. From Lichfield to the showground is 26 miles with three very good hills. We got...

Good idea. I looked at the cluster but assumed it would be the usual nightmare to remove. I shall now give it a go. JC

Thanks, but no, the vacuum pump has a much louder noise than this one. It is almost inaudible when one is driving, what with road noise etc. It really does sound as though it's coming from directly behind the energy meter. At first I thought it was an electrical short. You know the sort of noise tha...

Well, I looked for a leaf. I found none. I looked at the fuse, perfect. I still have the noise. Actually, I did say that there were 'no' flickerings of the dials etc. To be fair, the noise only comes on after about ten to fifteen miles & listening carefully now is better described as a sort of l...
