If it was him, then I did well.
As I recall, I charged him £80 (@ £20 per hour).

I did the conversion more simply. 1 W/hr = 3600 Joules. But one HUGE error, when the tank is empty it contains no energy! So you have rougly 42 Wh/Kg of total energy and rather less usable energy. By the way. Raising the pressure of a gas by 100 bar would raise it's temperature by some. EIGHT HUNDRE...

You need to convert to Whr/Kg which is the standard way of expressing energy density for batteries. What battery capacity were you basing your calculations on? You've also touched on another problem with compressed air and that's pressure regulation. The pressure starts off very high and ends up low...

I've been involved with EVs for over 12 years and I've got very cynical. I've heard all the 'new' inventions and 'amazing breakthroughs'. Most weren't new and most weren't breakthroughs. I've seen the companies playing the 'grant game' or sucking in venture capital. Some were just conmen. I had a vi...

Have you seen any of the reveiws of the Zagato Elcar? They were pretty awful vehicles. Even the Sebring Vanguard was considered to be safer, more comfortable and better handling. Collectors vehicle; yes. Everyday trasport; you've got to be dedicated (commited?). Until the advent of the GM Impact (EV...

The physics just don't add up P1*V1/T1 = P2*V2/T2 When you compress a gas it gets hot, that's part of the energy you've put into the system. If you allow the gas to cool you've lost that energy. The only way to get any kind of resonable energy density is to use non metalic storage tanks, but there's...

Some years ago a guy transported a City-el to me all the was from Cornwall. He was selling/servicing them, but neither he or his 'mechanics' could read a circuit diagram. In looking for an electrical problem, they'd actually introduced an extra five faults. It turned out to be a faulty accelerator p...

No, you can do it with the Curtis. You put another potentiometer in the circuit, in series with the throttle pot and adjust it for the creep speed. You also wire a relay into the brake circuit that shorts that pot out (or both pots) to give you zero speed. You'd have to have your foot on the brake w...
