Re: Question about Vpower batteries (and others)

I notice that Vpower batteries on ebay are getting really cheap. Has anyone tried these? Thinking of getting two 36v40ah ones to make a 72v battery. Am I being unrealistic? They do seem a lot cheaper than Ping, who never seems to drop his prices, while other batteries just get cheaper and cheaper. ...

Re: Lithium Battery Monitor 48 cell

Hi Derek,

I have been redesigning your board to 10*15cm, which may be usefull.
I may as well replace the optocoupler with an isolated DC/DC Converter to avoid the drain to the first 3 cells. Are you experiencing any problems with this?

Re: LTC6802 based 12 cell slave.

It is possible to dissipate small amounts of balancing current through the 6802, but I have not connected the balancing pins. This board will only monitor cell voltages. I did this for a couple of reasons. First it makes layout much easier and gives you a much smaller board. Second, daily balancing...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread

I've been using Itead and have no complaints. They aren't the fastest, but most of that is the shipping, however the price is right and they did reject one of my early Gerber files because it didn't look right. Turns out I did manage to leave off a footprint, so they do check for basic errors befor...

Re: Poor battery life

Even for a PBA battery you should use some kind of BMS/PCM to monitor individual voltages and if possible balance the cells. Its impossible to correctly control the charging voltage of the batteries when they are in series. You may have 13V in one and 15.8 on other. Same while discharging, one may h...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread

Hi casemod, I'll upload the slave files when I get a chance, busy getting ready for Christmas at the moment. Peter may have a V2 master pcb, I'm sure he'll be along and let you know if he has any. Cheers. He doesnt, I sent him an e-mail asking. What company did you use to make the PCB's? I am think...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread

Hi Everyone, Hi have been following this topic for some time. Very good work done here! I would like to build the PCBs however I can not find the original files, only the PDF/JPEG files. I would like the V2 Master and the 4 Cell SMD version of the slaves, can someone point me into the right directio...
