I don't see any calculations or allowances for BMS, enclosures and vehicle integration? I take your point Ian, I guess it is the difference between the cost of the system on the left side of my spreadsheet and the ball-park TS and HP numbers for a similar sized system... so... that would be... best...

For the record: just went and power-filed the edge of one of my connectors - copper, plated.

Still, 1mm seems real thin... I'll be keeping an eye on the temps.

Re: LiIon/LiFePo Cells Pricing

System Voltage: 96v Capacity: 100Ah - 150Ah Max current draw: 300 Amps, approx BMS and charger included... Maybe someone could point me in the right direction? My calculations here: http://groups.google.com/group/audia2ev/web/batteries . 500euro/kWh tax and delivery included on my order, your milea...

Now I searched on "interconnects" and found the older thread. I'll go for the threaded rod. Must say I am not very convinced by the interconnects themselves, even if they are copper they are half the theoretical size they should be? If I can't get the interconnects made up here easily (I'm...

Connectors on hi power battery pack

Two simple questions really: 1. Looking at the connectors delivered with my Hi Power batteries (look like 1mm steel) I see two problems: wrong material, way to flimsy. I've calculated that I need 50mm2 (copper) cable to connect battery pack to controller (100A cruise, 150A peak) so a 20mm wide alumi...

All seems pretty clear. Seems more logical that they are clamped anyway, since they will connect better. Mine (50Ah) show a very slight swelling.

OK thanks for the tips. I think I'm going to try a variant on the Webasto approach and have a timed electric heater (don't want to use any liquid fuels really) to pre-warm the vehicle, and see if I can get away with some light weight 12V demisting system. If that fails, I'll retro fit some pack powe...

LiIon batteries - packing them together

Don't know how many of you have seen this guy's Honda S2000 conversion but it looks very neat. On his blog http://s2kev.blogspot.com/2009/01/batteries-arrive.html he mentions that: They came pre-bound with nice aluminum end plates and handles to carry them. It's very important these cells stay bound...

Heater replacement, capacity and approach.

I'm trying to figure out what to do with replacing my heater. On the one hand, I understand there is a legal requirement to have a system that demists the windscreen - for this I guess a 12V 200W ceramic heater like is available on eBay would do the job (any opinions on that?). On the other hand, 20...

certificates for electronic gear and Uk roadworthiness

A guy from Germany doing a similar conversion to mine contacted me with this question:
