how to test saft nicd

Is there a definitive test protocol that can determine the likely health of a cell? The range on my berlingo has been getting worse over recent months :( I would like to be able to test some 'condition un-known' potential replacement cells. Other than putting them under load and obseving any drop in...

Re: Price of insurance

Just insured my ego scooter third party with footman james for £100. Not too bad I thought. Although the BVS have a discount arrangement with FJ, I was told that this applied to cars only and not bikes or scooters, so maybe something that could be looked into .Fortunatley I insure my triumph herald ...

Re: Failure to start

Had exactly the same as you a few months back. Think that the accelerator pedal sometimes does not seat back to its rest position quite right. It has happened 2ce more for me. Each time a small gentle pull on the pedal and it starts ok.

Re: help my blingo wont go!

Update... looks like it is the throttle position that is not being logged correctly. If I fiddle with the throttle then it will start, or if I disconnect start and reconnect then no problem. Chris has kindly lent me a substitute throttle assembly. I'll fit when I can just to prove or otherwise. It m...

Re: Berlingo Brake light modification

My solution is to everso gently press the brake pedal. The light comes on and judging by the readout from the evlite, the extra braking effect is actually from an increase in regen current rather than the friction of the pads. The current goe from a -ve 20amps or so right up to around 70! and althou...

Re: help my blingo wont go!

No warning light only the stop light no click! although I can hear a slight buzz/ hum noise. which worries me a little 'cos if there is something in the wrong position, presumably no current would be flowing upon turning of the key. The car was in park. I did try moving the gear selector arund to se...

help my blingo wont go!

Hi All, Any help greatfully received. I have been running my Blingo van for a couple of months now. Changed the brushes a couple of hundred miles ago. Running great... Only today went to start and although showing 80% charge and econometer working there is no click and the motor won't start. I don't...

how can you convert from NiCd to LIon?

Being somewhat new to the world of electric driving, I was wondering what steps one would need to take in order to convert to a Lithium based based battery technology from a Nicad. I have a berlingo EV and wondered how I would need to change the charging software and controller. Any advice?

Re: newbie ev berlingo owner:heater not working

Thanks for the help Chris. I will check the model number in daylight and report it just for the record. Anoher thought that I had was that perhaps the additional relay was a provision for the timer start or remote telestart options that are available. I'm sure that in the fullness of time it will al...

newbie ev berlingo owner:heater not working

I am chuffed to bits with my new purchase. It was bought knowing that the webasto heater was not working. Does anyone have any idea where to start looking to fix it? The dash button has no effect (doesn't light up either). I have looked for the main fuse but not sure where it is located. Any ideas? ...
