I didn't know that! Explains the situation quite well though! BTW you have to heat the zebra before its charged with the external supply to power the heaters, then the onboard heater keep it warm whilst the car is idle, maybe thats why it didnt come back!. Any charging may damage the cells, the salt...

Dont forget the CO2 to distill that fuel and for getting it to the petrol station.

Of course I guess then you have to account for tranmission losses and colombic efficiency of the battery.

Interesting to see those figures though.

Zebra is 120Wh/kg. Your looking at around 14% a day of power just to keep them warm, the case is quoted as 15C above ambient and heat loss around 90W. So its more suited to buses etc really. The discharge creates heat and charging is endothermic so essentially it self heats as you use it not taking ...

Ive seen figures of the Z5 Zebra battery of 15.5k Euros today. Apparently if they got the production figures up to where they expected they would be £4k each! 286V, 76 Ah 21.2 KWh rating and 224A peak discharge. Seems there a bit of a difference between 2hr discharge and 20 though, 2 hr is closer to...
