Re: iOn overcharging

I, too have been wondering whether stopping charging before full would be beneficial for battery life - ever since I read an article on the net about prolonging the life of Lithium-ion batteries. It suggested keeping battery packs between 20% and 80% would cause the least stress (if I remember right...

Re: 2011, Low Miles, Ex-Lease Peugeot iOns For Sale

Can concur with all Martin says - I've sold my previous EV (a Berlingo E500 van) and the I/C car and bought two of these little gems from Howards. They perform exceedingly well where I live down in hilly Devon and walk up any steep hill as if it isn't there. And as Martin says, boy racers have no ch...

Range

Yes, agree with message on previous thread - lovely little ev's. So much so I now run two - a his and hers and no I/c vehicle to fall back on! They suit our lifestyle which doesn't find us roaring off on long trips. Mainly local journeys. Going further afield has been achieved though with a little f...

Re: yellow blingo van in mid lincs

The van seen in Lincs was probably one of the ones originally owned by Dudley Corporation - yellow with a blue roof. I bought one of them from a private owner in 2007 and still have it here in Devon. Mine's a bit long in the tooth now and does about 25 miles top whack before the Ecolight comes on. I...

Re: Peugeot ION offers

Yes, not the best looker in the world but my wife likes it because its smaller than the Leaf which is even bigger than our Meriva which she definitely dislikes around the narrow streets and lanes of Devon! We used to have an old style Agila which she liked and was about the same size as the Ion. You...

Peugeot ION offers

I recently bought an ION to supplement my Berlingo, which is getting a bit long in the tooth. The ION is a super little car - very nippy and shoots up hills as if they aren't there. Mine was two years old and very low mileage. Search the net and you will find some stunning offers - around a third of...

Regen slow to operate

I've noticed a few times lately that, when running up to about 50 mph along an undulating road and then I come to a fairly steep downhill the regen braking fails to cut in when I take my foot of the pedal. The van then starts to speed up towards an eye watering 60 mph before the regen braking decide...

Re: Fuses

Well learnt something there! Didn't know the two sides related to different parts of the system. It was the passenger side that was short. No sign of leakage from the drain holes on the battery packs. Although there was a lot of water about making it not too easy to spot even after bringing it into ...

Re: Fuses

Hmmmmmm!! Well, nothing to do with a fuse!! The Battery Coolant had dropped below the minimum in a big way. It wasn't in sight in the radiator and took 5 litres to bring it back to the right level. Then all was well. Despite the amount that was missing I can find no sign of a leak. Maybe it only lea...

Fuses

The Berlingo stopped charging today at 75%. It isn't a fault in the lead or a fuse or the garage supply tripped. I'm sure I've seen a list of which fuse is for what under the dash but blowed if I can find it. Does anybody know which fuse the charging system is (hoping there is one and thats the prob...
