Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Martin , the lem hass 300 that i used requires a pull up resistor of i think 10k from 5v to the o/p.

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Peter , could this new current routine be used with a lem hass 300s for 500amp readings?

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Up and running on the bench. I did my usual mods to the socunit and i2c temp reading parts. I also went back to the old current routine as i'm using a lem hass 300s at +/- 500amps. I'm sure the new routine could be made to work with this part but just want to get it on test. Still got the timer in t...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread
Right now its running on the bench with 4 cells. The "M" in mph flashes when not charging and i have a counter incrementing at 1 sec intervals in the top right of the screen. My i2c temp sensors dont seem to want to work anymore even with the correct id! One potential problem is if the 1 s...

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread
Peter , on the pin diagram at the start of the master code RA6 and RA7 are reversed. Pin 9 is RA7 and Pin 10 is RA6.

Re: Old BMS Hardware Thread
Great news. I am actually using RA6 for the vss signal because i could not get it to work with RC1!! I tried everything. Five different chips. nada. I would go with the idea of forcing SOC to 100% once all cells pass say 3.55v. On the loop time issue why not have the watchdog pulses at 2 sec interva...

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
I think that would greatly help the soc calcs as the loop time for a given number of cells should be reasonably constant and measurable. One thing regarding wh/mile can we use the motor power number for that calculation?

Re: Old BMS Software Thread
Just a few thoughts on the wh/mile and soc calcs. I realise the problem with soc is not knowing the exact time taken by the main program loop. Sadly the simple solution of an interrupt driven timer will not work in this case. So what about using the PAUSE command in the soc loop? say measure current...
