Re: watt hours / amp hours
I pretty sure I'll convert the wiz, I've been researching & am well on my way to being confident in what I need & the costs involved but since the old gals going quite well at the moment I haven't been inspired to rip her to bits! I've also had the car for nearly two years now & still gi...

Re: batteries
Yes they do! If I run my G-Wiz for several weeks, doing 3-4 mile runs the overall distance I can travel, should I need a longer run is greatly reduced.
once a week I exercise my batteries by taking a longer run to flatten them off before charging & this aids overall distance.

Re: BMS Basic understanding
Thanks bobc & Ian. Just for information the G-Wiz has 8 x 6volts in series giving 48v total.
So with lithium if you have the right BMS there's no extra regime just plug in?

BMS Basic understanding
I couldn't figure out "How" a BMS works but read this The BMS will burn up excess current to the cells which are fully charged, allowing the remaining cells to get topped off. Eventually, this results in a perfectly top balanced pack. So that figures! but can someone give me an idiots guid...

Re: watt hours / amp hours
Thanks for that Mark. I'm in two minds at the moment, I'm undecided either to build my next EV out of something classic, probably using lead or convert my G-Wiz (which I do actually quite like!) to Lithium. Either was I'm in the mood for a project!

Re: watt hours / amp hours
Thanks for that Jeremy. I feel into this trap on some batteries in my G-Wiz, changed them from Trojans to US battery (which offered higher Amphour rating) & millage, whilst enough for my needs is rubbish in comparison to the Trojans I'll have to see if I can find the discharge rate for them. So ...

Re: watt hours / amp hours
So basically they will deliver the same, meaning it comes down to cost & dimensions to establish the preferred layout?

watt hours / amp hours
I'm almost scared to write this! BUT Can anyone explain to me what the net result of these battery configurations are. If I was to string together (for example) in series 4 x 12volt 200amp batteries I would have a 48volt 200amp pack.................... Right? If I strung together in series 8 x 6volt...

Re: Revolt open source controller
you can buy a full kit ready to solder together for $600 + shipping which is quite a prospect! from http://www.paulandsabrinasevstuff.com/store/page3.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's certainly food for thought, I rather like the idea of soldering my own controller together bu...
