Has someone been tinkering with the site recently? I know others have been having login problems before now, but as of today I get logged out every time I close a window. Even with "log me in automatically" ticked, I still have to log in every time.

Yes Niks moved the biscuit tin about

So the cookies are now not where they where, hopefully this will cure the loggin issues although you may need to take the old cookie out so it dosnt get confused

Have to admit its nice that it does log me out as I never like leaving my self logged in to a site

Certianly I've not had any log in problems like we had, i.e you'd log in and you wouldnt be logged in etc

So well done Niks looks like that ones sorted

The moving of the cookie jar has upset my browser. I was not experiencing the logging out problem described until last night (or was it this morning? I can't remember properly).

Anyway, I deleted all my cookies as was recomended, and logged in again, saving as I went. I even restarted browser and machine. It now logs me out at the drop of a hat, as MalcolmB describes.

Help!

Yes, it gets frustrating having to log in again every time I want to check for new posts or post a reply. For me at least, things were fine until yesterday. Is this browser-related? I'm using Safari on a Mac.

no I'm on both Windurs and also on Linux and get the problems now and then too. They seem to be sorted so I'm assuming our much harassed web mistress has had a look into it So I for one would like to say thank you for that.

We're not entirely sure what is causing the problems but we are looking into it

Still broke

As mentioned here and elsewhere, the 'remember me' checkbox doesn't do it's job. This started, for me, about the time Nikki moved the cookiejar.

Having cleared my cookies and logged in again today, I see the following:-

Code: Select all

batteryvehiclesociety.org.uk
    utma expires 2010-03-17 16:20:17
    utmb expires 2008-03-17 17:27:05
    utmc expires 1970-01-01 01:00:00
    utmz expires 2008-09-16 05:20:17

www.batteryvehiclesociety.org.uk
   BVSFORUM_data expires 2009-03-17 16:56:39
   BVSFORUM_sid  expires 1970-01-01 01:00:00

I hope this means something to someone.
BVSFORUM_sid looks wrong to me.Surely this should expire in the future?

I will supply any further data requested.

Interesting...

I'll try to look into this further. I do appologise that you're having problems.

I must admit that before I did anything I didn't experience any problems logging in. I use Macs running a variety of OSes and browers. My iPhone hates the new cookie moving.

I'll try and look into it this week. It may be Friday before I have time to play properly.

Nikki.

For the record, I am using Windows Vista and Internet Explorer, and it is all working fine for me :-)

Another data-point for you.
