Ok. Whatabout these two: http://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/etek-r.htm ?
for example that 48v one combined with this controller: http://www.thunderstruck-ev.com/Alltrax.htm 300amp one at 48v (i like it as it has serial connection and i have palm tungsten t5 which i could use as monitor, mp3 and gps for spedometer one smart man wrote a program for it: http://mysite.verizon.net/swsawtelle/id12.html) player with tiny speakers and these e4 batteries: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LONG-LIFE-AGM-110 ... 240%3A1318

Would this would make more sense? If i calculated correct (48V*125A=6000watts) 6kW motor. I would probably spend more money cause one week is 15 pounds petrol which makes 840 pounds per year so it would be a good investment. I have mesured the distance and it is 15.5 miles to work and back so 7.75 miles one

Thanks for the link Agnius, I've not seen that Alltrax PDA interface before.

Either of those motors should work if geared correctly. I'd go for the high-torque RT version myself, as the extra torque could be useful getting a 300 kg trike up to speed. The Alltrax controllers are well proven units, but the Curtis controller that Nino is selling will be cheaper (allowing for a dismal exchange rate and shipping) and let you go up to 72V if you decide you want more speed later. Those batteries are probably bigger than you need for your intended range. It's good to avoid carrying more lead than you need, as it's heavy man. 8)

Hi Malcolm,
I am currently doing a researche on this and not rushing in to buyng parts. I want to do my homework first ;).
I have contacted Trvor i think from L.M.C and he advised to go for 200 series D127 motor. Heres is the spec:

Torque
Constant
Nm/A :0.17

Speed
Constant
Rpm/V :50

Peak
Power
kW: 25.38 with 90% Efficiency

Peak
Current
A:400

Rated
Power
kW: 12.56

Rated
Current
A:200

Rated
Torque
Nm:33.3
With Alltrax controller model 7245 (2mins at 450A, 5mins at 350A and 1hour at 200A.
It sounded interesting exept the price :)
At the moment i am thinking of morris mini front suspension with R12/155/x as low profile as i could get but not lower than 40. That would be welded onto 40x40x2.5 box section frame.
The back i would like to use motorcycle suspension and wheel with apropiate tyre. I would use that concept of palm monitoring. There is another software i saw with colours and all for ipaq but he charges for it. Dont know how much thou. Found it here: http://www.tronbikes.com/2008/05/tronbike-e-meter.html
So for 72V system 6 12V batteries. I saw people using Low voltage smaller batteries (http://www.evalbum.com/2191). Whats the benefit of that?
I hope i dont bother you guys too much. I would be more competent in building monitoring system for controller on rs232 :) Here's some of my work:
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/fabrica ... stall.html
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/fabrica ... meone.html
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show-of ... puter.html
http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/fabrica ... -mobo.html

Basicaly thats what i'm after: http://www.evalbum.com/2185 just smaller and lighter.

My concern at the moment is the registration of self build vehicle in england. That could be major problem if not disaster
Any one have any experience with that?
Cheers

He he. Sounds like your goals are shifting. Don't worry, it's a common EV syndrome. Treatment can be expensive though...

Yes, the LMC motor and Alltrax 72V would make a good combination as well. You might also want to take a look at the Kelly controllers. It's a relatively new company and there were some early failures, but reliability has improved a lot and they have a nice combination of features, including torque control, which allows smoother speed control by all accounts.

Not sure what the advantage of using 6V batteries is, but it seems to be used mainly on large traction packs (truck-sized) and I suspect it's mainly for ease of packaging/handling.

I've very little electronics knowledge myself, so I may be pestering you soon for information on palm solutions :D

If you do a search for SVA (single vehicle approval) you should find a bit more information here about licensing a one-off vehicle. qdos can probably point you in the right direction as well.

Hi, I've been building a reverse trike too, on odd days when I feel like it :)

There are some pictures at http://triamp.blogspot.com

That looks like fun Evan. I've fancied doing something like this for ages but the part that puts me off is a nagging feeling that it would all go horribly wrong when I got to the bodywork. Maybe go for the minimalist look of an Ariel Atom?

Here's one I like just because of its "junkyard" look:

Hi. Thanx EVan and MalcolmB for the post. I dont realy want to go atom road cause i want to drive it in british weather :). 1st stage is to build all the chassi brakes suspension steering seating and stuff. Next to get the costy components and after to get bodywork sorted.
I was even thinking taking fiat Cinquecento, cutting off half of it and sealing back end :)
Will think about it.
Cheers
