Wiring Looms and connectors

Postby qdos » Sun Nov 25, 2007 4:03 pm

OK I've got a number of things which need wiring up to several vehicles I'm working on at the moment and I would like to find out where I can get some proper wiring loom connectors from to patch into the looms. There's a variety of male and female connectors I need to patch into existing looms. I'd like to use proper connection blocks rather than hack into the loom cutting wires etc. The connectors are predominantly nylon opaque white in appearance and have a snap tab on the sides of them which slot into a receptor on the opposite connector to keep them locked together.

My question is where is the best place to find this kind of connector? A website would be a good starting point. I've hunted around on-line and I can not find the connectors I'm looking for but to be honest I don't know what they are called to do a proper search for them, any help would be appreciated :?

I've had good results with the Australian version of

http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/home/homepage.jsp

might be worth a shot - just bear in mind they have 1000's of products so it may take a little searching to drill down to what you want....
