BMS help requested

Postby micgolub » Sat Jun 09, 2012 1:44 am

I have attached a video of the video output of Peter Perkins BMS.

I am running 45 LiFePO4 batteries in series.

I was concerned about the voltage.

I think some of the wires need to be twisted pair?

First thing to check is the slave bus. Do this by sending command 7 from the master. This should turn on the load in each slave in turn. You just watch the leds. If all slaves turn on their loads the slave bus is o.k. Report back after you have done this.

P.S. please post in the BMS thread any questions about the bms. Hopefully a moderator can move this, I have started a topic "Finding and fixing BMS faults." which would be ideal for questions like this.

How do you do command 7?

Go into the menu by pressing the 5 way button. Look for the entry marked "Slave Update" and choose command 7 which should be the default. You can find detailed instructions in the above link by doing a search.

EDIT: This video should help, it is quite old so the commands may not be the same, but the correct commands can be found in the well documented software. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSXLVTJJtvA&feature=channel&list=UL

Do I just make a new thread in:

http://www.batteryvehiclesociety.org.uk/forums/viewforum.php?f=53

seems a lot a discussion about everything, while I am dealing just with Peter Perkins stuff?

Did you find the menu item on the master and where you able to try command 7?
