Don't expect to plan on using any of these batteries for quite some time, if ever.
However there is a very interesting article about the research going on into new lithium batteries in "New electronics". Reading between the lines it also explains why people clamp lithium batteries and why their cases swell.

IF these come out. The first adopters because of cost and OEM sales will be laptops then model planes then cycles. TTXGP then maybe cars if they can prove cycle life.
