I fitted a set of 10 of these in my truck and they did not last a year. They were a complete waste of money as far as ev use is concerned.
I replaced them with 20 lead gel transmitter back up batteries for a fraction of the cost and these are still as good as new after 4 years use.

Hi Peter - are these the UPS type batteries?

What spec did you use?

Many thanks

Christopher

Thanks for the reply Peter, do you have any more info on the batteries you've got now?

Cheers, Ian

ebay item 220246784432
I have four of these ready to fit on my trike.
You can get them for less money than this if you haggle.
The ones on my truck are Sunenshine but very similar for £11.00 each.

Sorry to ask a stupid question (I am new to this :D ) but why did you replace 10 batteries with 20?

They do have a tube vent on top which would have to be routed up and not leak. I prefer to keep them upright.
The 10 batteries were 200 amphr and the 20 replacements are 100 amphr. I have the 100 amhrs doubled up in parallel to make 200 amphrs.

With these, if you go for a bigger heavier car, or a pickup truck as in Bob Brants book, you can really load it up with batteries without it being too heavy for the suspension or costing too much.
