Hi :)

Footman James are offering a discount to BVS members - 0844826 8933

That is a special number for BVS members so Footman James can keep track of how many members insure with them.

I've got a good rate from http://www.budgetinsurance.com.
I've also used CiS but don't recommend them.

Thanks Nikki & Evan for your replies. The best quote I got was £196 fully comp, which I have taken up. This was from NIG who also insure my farm machinery.

Best regards

Right time to bring this one back as my Blingo is due.

Must admit I'm tempted to try for a fixed value type insurance as if anyone say whacks me up the back they could do +£1500 worth of damage to the rear battery pack alone
Trouble is I can see them writing it off if something like that happened or treat it like a regular van and give me £2.50 for it

Quote this year is £225 TPFT limited to 3K mileage with wife to drive, 2yrs no claims, £200 excess , and legal protection.

This is with Equity Red Star via Adrian Flux

Not what I'd call very good

So folks what are you paying and for what service and with who...........thats if you dont mind of course.

We have this conversation with G-Wiz owners every few months.

The best one we've found is Elephant (Clicky Clicky) who offer really good prices and a good service.

A few years back my car and I had a disagreement with a concrete wall which lept out at me at the last moment. I was insured with Elephant and I was really impressed with the quality of service.

Within two hours I had a loan car. My car was written off and the payment was sorted out inside two weeks. Throughout the whole process, I cannot fault the quality or level of communications I had with the company: they were really good.

On my G-Wiz, I pay £148 fully comprehensive for myself and my wife. The next cheapest quote was around £220.

Ah thats interesting.

I presume they where able to cope quite easily with it being electric , the main problem I get is the fact they try and quote for a deisel or petrol Berlingo and when you tell them its electric they go all wobbley and run a mile.

Then again they dont make a petrol G-Wiz so it might be a tadge easier ?

Yeah these days most insurance companies are rubbish, they just have a puppet tied to a computer who does everything it tells them to do...I don't envy that job, it would drive me nutts.

What year is your Berlingo, Chris?

Its a 1999 one, eventually ended up back at Adrian Flux. While Footman James gave me a VERY competitive they where unable to offer me a fixed value on the Berlingo

After much thought and checking of prices I decided to continue with Adrian Flux as they where able to offer fixed value on the Berlingo. 8)

With current market values of Berlingos over here being so volatile and the fact if someone was to hoof my up the rear they could easliy do many thousands of pounds worth of damage to the rear battery pack and this could cause the vehicle to be written off under normal situations, at least this way I will be able to replace the vehicle or at least have it repaired.
