Trying to find a motor

Postby mjoinson » Thu Jan 03, 2008 6:39 pm

I'm trying to build a 70mph electric Trabant....?! I'm looking for a motor giving 27kw (Peak for 2 mins) at 4800 rpm, but small enough to fit in a space 333mm long by 256mm diameter. Anyone got any suggestions?
Hope to have the car in 2 stroke mode at the Bristol meet this sunday.
thanks

Martin

Lynch motor too slow

Been there. It will fit, and with 2 of them 22kw is more than the petrol engine, but runs out of revs too soon. I'm reluctant to build a new gearbox between the motor and the trabi box to increase the overall ratio. AVT have a rumour of a series motor that will fit, but can't get a drawing to prove it.
