Hi guys

What regulars here are on the database?

Does anyone know what sort of socket i need to supply to sign up? I am wiring up a 16Amp 240v Socket on my exterior garage wall this weekend. Is this teh BVS standard - or should I make it a 13amp socket?

Just want to be as helpful as possible....

I'm on the database. I can only offer 13Amp, but the form gives you the choice of 16/13/both.

I have made a converter lead for my own use, with a 16A plug and 13A socket, so I can use either. The 16A socket is certainly more robust- Berlingo owners using 13A sockets all have scorched live pins I think.

We are on the database and have a 16A external socket. We also have a lead available that plugs into the 16A socket to provide 2 13A sockets if required.

I assume that you talking about the http://www.ev-network.org.uk database.
It really does not matter too much, as you specify what you have anyway. Then it is upto other people to make sure they have the correct adapter.

A 16 A socket would be ideal with an adapter for 13A sockets. Then you say that you have both.

As Rob says it really dosnt matter 8)

As long as you are willing to offer a point then you can go on there 8)

You can specify number of points, type, and even if you have to phone ahead before arriving etc so its pretty easy going.

I will say that if you are supplying any power outside your property it must be protected by a 30mA RCD

Cool...

I've just filled in my application form, 13 Amp internal for now, and booking in advance seems the best bet to start with. Seems fair.

I think its a great scheme, so long as people don't abuse it.

Great idea! Haven't had much traffic yet though!
